Jotne Ankers AS is a well-established manufacturing company based in Tistedal, Halden, and part of the family-owned Jotne Group. For more than 40 years, we have combined solid craftsmanship with modern technology, building strong expertise in steel and metal manufacturing.
We have around 40 employees with expertise in sales, project management, engineering, procurement, production and installation. With our offices and workshop located under the same roof, we closely follow each project throughout the entire process – from concept and engineering to production and final installation.
We develop, manufacture and supply railings, stairs, balconies, walkways, ramps, grating products and bespoke steel structures for construction and civil engineering projects, industrial buildings, public facilities and technical installations. At the same time, we continue to build on our long-standing experience in wastewater treatment plants and land-based industry, which remain important market areas for us.
Our customers include contractors, developers, industrial companies and public-sector organisations throughout Norway. From small assignments to large and complex projects, we assist our customers with solutions tailored to their specific needs. Our goal is always the same: to deliver functional and durable solutions of high quality, completed on time and in accordance with our customers’ requirements.

OUR HISTORY
Our history began in the late 1950s, when the first spiral staircase, known as the Haldentrappen, was delivered to the Halden nuclear reactor. This marked the beginning of a long tradition of developing staircases and steel structures – a tradition that continues to shape the company today.
Ankers was established in 1984 as a mechanical workshop by Kosmos Saugbrugsforening in Halden, drawing on strong technical expertise from Ankerløkken Verft Glommen. Over the following years, the company grew through mergers with Halden Trappen AS, AS Dreierprodukter and Ara Fabrikker AS. This increased production capacity and expanded the product range.
In 1988, the company became an independent business, before Ankers became part of the Jotne Group in 1995.
Today, Jotne Ankers builds on more than 60 years of experience, supplying staircases, railings, grating and bespoke steel structures to industrial facilities, commercial buildings, public buildings and wastewater treatment plants. Through continuous development, strong technical expertise and a commitment to quality, we continue the legacy of the first Haldentrappen.

Focus on Continuous Improvement
