New Bommen treatment plant

Nye Bommen RA is a new treatment plant designed to process wastewater from Ørje, a town in Marker municipality, with discharge into the Ørje River and the Halden watercourse. The facility is being constructed in a 1,000 m² industrial building. The building includes an administration section at one end, containing offices, changing rooms, and restroom facilities, as well as an operations control room from which the process can be monitored. The main part of the building houses the process hall and the wastewater treatment line.

The treatment method used is MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor), a well-known and recognized technology for wastewater treatment in Norway, which is also familiar to the municipality’s operating personnel.

The plant is scheduled for completion around the turn of the year 2025/2026.

Jotne Ankers has been tasked with producing and installing pipe systems, stairs, work platforms, and walkways within the process facility, as well as distribution tanks and supports for technical equipment. Additionally, Jotne Ankers will handle the installation of process technical equipment supplied by Nordic Water Products AS.
