Skarholmen and Horsøy wastewater treatment plant
Askøy Municipality is building two modern wastewater treatment plants – one at Skarholmen (east) and one at Horsøy (west).
These facilities will ensure efficient treatment of wastewater before it is discharged into Hauglandsosen, removing large amounts of organic material. The result will be cleaner seawater and a healthier marine environment.
The treatment plants are designed with the future in mind, built to accommodate population growth through to 2050. This corresponds to a capacity of up to 20,000 people at Skarholmen and 15,000 at Horsøy – including commercial and industrial activities.
For these projects, Jotne Ankers is delivering complete engineering, fabrication, and installation of piping and stairs, as well as installation of customer-supplied equipment.
