Skjold Officers’ Quarters in Målselv Municipality
The Norwegian Defence Estates Agency (Forsvarsbygg) is well underway in strengthening the Armed Forces’ presence in the north through targeted investments in infrastructure. At Skjold in Målselv Municipality, new housing for officers is currently under construction, and extensive renovations of barracks are being carried out. This is part of a comprehensive plan to accommodate more soldiers and personnel at the garrison.
In March 2025, construction began on a new accommodation building at Skjold, a modern three story structure tailored to the needs of the Armed Forces. The project has an estimated construction period of 14 months.
Letnes Arkitektkontor AS is responsible for the architectural design, while Skanska Husfabrikken AS is the general contractor for the project, which is being carried out as a design and build contract.
For this project, Jotne Ankers will supply the internal steel staircase and external spiral staircases.
